You can now find localfood. The LocalFood CS app will tell you who is growing or producing local food, where you can buy it and which eateries (and drinkeries) are sourcing local in Colorado Springs and throughout the Pikes Peak Region.

Our goal is to pull together producer and consumers to relocalize our food system. On the producer end this includes farmers, ranchers, commercial food producers but it also includes you and your neighbor who may have eggs, honey, backyard produce, goat milk, bread or some other homemade, or homegrown food to sell. On the consumer end, this includes anyone who is looking to source, eat or buy local, sustainable and ethical food. This could be a restauranteur looking for local tomatoes, a baker in search of the freshest most local ingredients or it might be you, trying to find a dozen eggs from your neighbor’s laying hens.

You will find that 99% of the suppliers (growers & producers of local food) are located within 67 miles of the center of Colorado Springs. However, many food producer who are geographically very local may source only some of their ingredients locally. Some stores may have exclusively organic products but not all sourced locally. Meat suppliers may be completely organic but pasture only part of the time. The L.O.P. will allow the consumer to see how local, how organic and how impor
